### What does B & B mean?
Burlaped trees are grown without root confinement in an open field, then dug with some means which captures some of the roots and some of the soil in which the tree grew. Trees cannot be dug during active leaf growth without great stress on the tree due to most of its tiny feeder roots being cut off in the digging process. Burlap is wrapped around the root and soil ball after the tree is lifted from the ground, thus the term "balled and bagged" or "B & B".
