Bald Cypress is a fast growing tree the first few years, makes a fine-textured, pyramid-shaped tree, is long-lived and will grow in a wide range of conditions. It does best where year-round moisture is adequate, but will grow in drier locations. Eventhough it can be seen growing in water, it grows best out of standing water.

About thirty seedlings were grafted with Homestead Select Bald Cypress scions in February, 2006. Those scions grew an incredible eight (8') feet during 2006. Two hundred liners were planted in December, 2006. These were grafted with scoins from our Homestead Select Bald Cypress in February, 2008. About one-third of the scions were killed by a late freeze in March--the remaining scions are about 5 feet high in mid-September.
